Easter is this weekend!
People celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ in different ways, but this Easter we’ll celebrate it CrossFit style by doing the ultimate Hero WOD… THE JESUS WOD.
It is a WOD meant to symbolize the sacrifice Jesus made for us and it’s said to be an unforgettable experience.
We have an awesome opportunity to do The JESUS WOD with other local CrossFit gyms on Saturday morning at 9am in the Aldersgate Church parking lot. The Normal Saturday 9:00AM WOD @ Compass has been canceled; So that everyone can participate in this community WOD. We will provide your bar and weights. It will be a great experience, and you are encouraged to attend this with other CrossFitters from around the city.
We also canceling both of our evening classes on Friday as well, because a few of us will be participating in Capstone CrossFit’s JESUS WOD: at 5:30pm and 7:30pm. This will make us available for setup support and coaching on Saturday for the community WOD.
WOD Details:
“Jesus”
14 Rounds for time (95/65 lb Barbell):
10 Deadlifts
10 Squat cleans

Walking barbell Lunges (50 ft)
Round 3, 7, & 9 – 7:
Turkish Get Up with (1.5/1 Pood)

The WOD represents 14 stations of the Cross with the three times Jesus fell to the ground on His journey to from Gabbatha to Golgotha to be Crucified and Jesus being laid in the tomb.
- Jesus is condemned to death
- Jesus carries his cross
- Jesus falls the first time
- Jesus meets his mother
- Simon of Cyrene helps Jesus carry the cross
- Veronica wipes the face of Jesus
- Jesus falls the second time
- Jesus meets the women of Jerusalem
- Jesus falls the third time
- Jesus is stripped of his garments
- Crucifixion: Jesus is nailed to the cross
- Jesus dies on the cross
- Jesus is taken down from the cross
- Jesus is laid in the tomb
When performing this WOD you are encouraged to scale the prescribed weights if necessary as this workout is structured a bit differently in that if you put the bar down (any time other than when prescribed in rounds 3, 7 & 9), you are NOT allowed to continue. This is in order to respect the suffering our Lord Jesus Christ went through on our behalf. The workout is undeniably brutal. It will be a time to reflect on the gift all of us have been given from Jesus’ sacrifice.
This WOD is limited to 15 members: Signup sheet is at the box on the black board, please only register if you are sure you will be participating. Also, please list your desired weight selection when signing up so we know what to take.
Even if you are not going to participate, we would love for you to come by, see what it is all about and offer moral support for your community.
Hope to see you there, please Read John 19 – John 20 in preparation and have a Happy Easter!
